This past weekend was my birthday!! My wonderful husband and I were able to get out of town for a few days and we traveled to Boston. We have never been there before and have always wanted to visit. We saw some of the historical sites there, ate some yummy food, visited the cape and Martha's Vineyard, and of course, had to take in a Red Sox game. I think it is always fun to go to baseball games in the big baseball towns. I love the excitement in the air. Plus it was the 100 year birthday of Fenway Park. We celebrated together! (luckily I'm NOT 100!)
As we were getting our final packing done before we left for the airport, (we took the red eye, and believe me, our eyes were red when we arrived), I got my birthday gift from my mother in law. Remember, I've told you, she is an expert in the field of sewing. She made me the most adorable camera strap cover!
I love ALL things MARY ENGELBREIT and, knowing this, she keeps a lot of ME fabric on hand for projects. This is one of my favorite prints (it is the bed skirt of my daughters crib) and for me, you can never go wrong with a red ruffle! She made a little pocket for my lens cover to fit into perfectly.
She made it to custom fit the strap with the tapered ends and everything. She wanted to make sure it didn't twist and slide around while I used it.
I took it with us on our trip and put it on when we got to our hotel. Our hotel had this awesome wooden balcony and it worked perfect for the backdrop of the pictures.
I absolutely LOVE my new camera strap! It is comfortable, adorable and totally ME! (as in me, liz!)
Maybe I can talk her into giving me a tutorial that I can share with all of you!
Have a great day!
