When I saw
these money medallions from Lil Luna, I thought they were so awesome! So when all the graduation announcements started showing up, I knew I wanted to use these in some way. I thought it would be fun to make some ribbons out of scrapbook paper to add the medallions to and present them to the graduates. So I came up with these Graduation Money Ribbons.
We decided on the amount we could give to each graduate and I made up the medallions.
I followed Kristyn's
tutorial on how to make the accordion medallions.
Kristyn has some cute printables to attach to the medallions, but I wanted to make some that went along with the High School colors.
I used a 2 inch circle punch to punch them out and attached them with a glue dot.
Next I made up my ribbons. I cut scrapbook paper in 7 inch by 3/4 inch strips. I put a glue dot on the back side of one end, and brought the other end around like a circle, so the ends were touching. Then I pressed the seem down to the other side, as shown.

I made 4 for each ribbon. Take 2 and glue them together in a + form. Once you have your 2 + glued together, attach them together in an alternating pattern to look like a bow. (I used glue dots for this, but you could use a stapler, or glue stick or hot glue, whatever you have.)
I used double stick tape and attached it to the tops of a couple ribbon. I pulled off the backing and attached them to the back of my scrapbook paper bow. I punch out a 2 inch circle and glued it on the back over the ribbons to finish it.
Then all you have to do is attach your money medallions!
I attached them to the front of some fun colored soda bottles. Each graduate will get one!
You can also add a little scrapbook square with some string or yarn to give it a graduation cap look!

They turned out really fun and super cute! Our family and friend graduating this year will LOVE them I'm sure! They were quick and easy and I didn't have to go far for the supplies.
